this must be the place.

Last night I watched an interesting film from Italian director Paolo Sorrentino called This Must Be the Place, starring Sean Penn. It was about an ex-pop star slash Robert Smith lookalike named Cheyenne living in Dublin, estranged from–yet forced to attend the deathbed of–his Jewish father, upon which he becomes hellbent on finding the Nazi that tortured said father in Auschwitz. RIGHT?!

Believe me when I say this movie was thought provoking and enjoyable (and above all, unique…) yet simply cannot be described with mere words. This one needs pictures, guys. Lots of pictures.

If that didn’t sell this movie, you’re a monster.
